I'm not very familiar with the store so not sure how thorough this check would be, there is also discount on certain brands of food with the check:

I've heard different reports. I think it depends on the quality of staff!

At the big PAH near me (about 20 minute drive) they have a vet, but at the smaller one, which is actually nearer me, they have veterinary nurses, and a vet is called in if necessary.

Now, I'm not doing down vet nurses! They're brilliant, but they're not vets, so would the health checks be good enough?

I don't really know the answer to that one, so I'll carry on with my own vet! Big Grin

I dont think this check could be used as an alternative to seeing your own vet, it's probably just an advertising gimmick to get you to buy their food i dont know

Oh, sorry, I thought it was a health check ( I couldn't click the link fir some reason, until just now!) .

I suppose if they are trained in nutrition then it might be ok, but like you say it's probably a sales gimmick!

Prefer my Vet to do a health check for Solly, he has it done with his jabs. No extra money involved, so why go to PAH and their inexperienced staff? I wouldn't dream of allowing Solly's health to be judged by shop staff. Also Solly can be weighed anytime at the Vets surgery for nothing. PAH trade on pet owners being gullible and thats about it, just another con. Sad

Do they have a Vet employed and there all the time or do you mean they just sign him up for certain sessions ?? Personally would be always a little sceptical about "Free check ups" like Kwikfit , local Ford Dealer etc , normally it's just a ruse to get you to buy something
