The Staffy stretch
My foster has just done the usual Staffy stretch where her whole body is stretched out with back legs pointing backwards like a pair of flippers - and dragged herself across the whole of the dining room and lounge floors in that position, like a soldier on an assault course.
Anyone else's dog do this or other odd things?

Rocky doesn't do the frog leg thing he will do it with just one leg stretches out behind him but never both, but then he is a Staffy cross

Re: The Staffy stretch
Storm always does this, off the sofa or on the floor when he flops out. I never seen any other breed do this, has anyone else seen it in other dogs?

The girls will pour themselves (we call it) from bed and sofa. Lola will lie quite often like this we call her spatchcock girl as she looks like a spatchcock chicken lol

Only ever seen it in staffies.
My old boy Marley used to do it too, but only for long enough to get off the sofa - I used to call it his "wiping manoeuvre" as it looked like he was wiping, um, certain bits along the sofa.
But Sausage foster dog takes it to extremes - her stretches last for about six to eight metres in whichever direction she's facing.

Re: The Staffy stretch
Ledger does it most times when getting off the sofa after a good sleep but prefers to warm his belly in front of the fire never really though much of it as our first dog used to lie in the 'frog' pose she was an alsatian/labrador cross and I'm sure our second girl Pepsi (heinz 57) used to do it too

Re: The Staffy stretch
Loki stretches by stretching out just his back legs and walking for a while . Every time I take him out, he stands half outside, and stretches his back legs out, resting them on the step. They're so weird

Dempsey belly crawls with all four legs splayed out, but that's only when he's sleepy and can't be bothered to walk over to get a fuss.

Re: The Staffy stretch
Yep same here, Maggie does it just as she steps outside before she goes to the loo. Jake also stretches like this so maybe Maggie picked it up from him My mum and dad's lab, Molly use to lay like it in front of the fire or in the garden, not so much now tho she's an old lady (12 yrs old) so would probably get stuck bless her
