URGENT! Need your opinions!
Hello everyone and thank you for reading.
Well I've dewormed Dragon twice, 3 months ago and today, but the problem is every time I deworm him he vomits everything out within 1 hour or so, so the tablet comes out when he vomits, as he doesn't chew things properly.
Today when I dewormed him he vomited everything out again and I can see the food I fed him (it says we have to feed him a little bit and give him the tablet) with big white stuffs which isn't worms, I believe it's the table dissolved.
We used Bob Martin deworming tablets as we still had 2 left from the last time we dewormed him.
We believe that he has worms because he tries to bite his bum quite a few times everyday and he also rubs his bum on the floor a lot. We also see a few white stuff on his poo every so often, so we decided to deworm him again.
So what do you guys think we should do?

If he's struggling to keep a tablet down, why not use Advocate - that's what we use for Ralph. It's a liquid that goes on the back of the neck?

Worms will appear in his poo unless he has tape worm which will hang out of his bum after going to the loo. You can get a liquid as mentioned above or crush the tablet and mix with his food.

Re: URGENT! Need your opinions!
You mentioned this last time & we told you Bob Martins was a bad one!
Get some off your vet. I know they're more expensive, but they work. I use Milbemax. For Dempsey's weight (around 28-30 kilos) I use two tablets every three months. That comes to about £10 each time. Worth it as it doesn't upset him, and I know he's worm free.
Advocate's ok if you want a monthly spot on treatment, but not if you just want a 3 monthly worming treatment. I don't de-flea unless I see signs of a problem, so Advocate's no good for me.

I know Bob Martin isn't as good as the other ones, but since I still had 2 tablets left we decided to give him the tablets and then after buy a better one, the only reason I posted this was because he doesn't chew things properly and he always vomits the tablets out. I'll take him to the vets and ask them what to do.

Re: URGENT! Need your opinions!
He doesn't have to chew the tablets - if they go down whole, they should stay down. I think there's something in the Bob Martins that disagrees with him.

Re: URGENT! Need your opinions!
I see, yes it does go down because he only vomits after 1 hour or so.
Well I'm taking him to vets in a second and buying what the vets recommend me, and then give it to him tomorrow.
But right now Dragon is starving, should we still wait the 6 hours that it says on the packet of the tablet, or do you guys think he's good to eat? Because after all he vomited the tablet out, so I'm not sure if I should feed him or not, he's going mad and trying to eat card boxes lol.

Re: URGENT! Need your opinions!
I've only ever used Milbemax, which I give with food, so I don't know about the starving. I didn't know Bob Martins said to do that!
I'd speak to your vet, because you won't want to give him something that might clash with the one you've already given him, even if he brought most of it up!

Rocky has Drontal worming tablets which we buy at the vets, although you can buy then online cheaper. He has never had a reaction to them unlike another brand which he had an allergic reaction to, which i cannot remember the name of now

Re: URGENT! Need your opinions!
Thank you so much guys, I just rang up the vets and they said to bring him in so they can weigh him and stuff and see what he'll need and all that.
Thank you for your replies.

never ever scrimp when it comes to medication, its your dogs health at risk. would you take a cheap tablet? allllllways go to the vets for meds.

Yes the vets even said Bob Martin wasn't good she said its what people use to use around 20 years ago and there's way better stuff now a days.
She gave us a tablet for worms called Milbemax, we deworming him tomorrow morning and hopefully this time he won't be sick. Thanks everyone.

Just like several people above, I've always used Milbemax monthly since I've had Zeus and had no problems. I just throw it in his dry kibble and he doesnt even know hes having it.

Can I ask why you use it monthly? I was always told it only needs to be given every 3 months. It's advocate that should be given monthly.
