Freedom at last :)

Since our we incident last week where i lost Diesel to the call of the rabbits in the dark woods, she has been street bound and only getting walked on lead cause i am so scared she disappears again! The joys of being night shift in the winter is that when you come home its dark, when you wake up its getting dark so it doesn't really leave me a lot of chance to walk Diesel off lead safely.
But as am sure you can image she has been becoming more and more bored over the days cause all though she's getting long walks, they'r boring long walks with no freedom to run and sniff and chase things, and with the boredom comes the mischief! She's into everything, driving me insane! So as i was off last night i decided to get an early night and get up early and take her out
So i dragged myself outta bed this morning, and off we went...down the dog park for a few circuits (only a few chases of rabbits and she came back- phew!) up on to the canal, through the woods, into the fields, through down the woods and then along to the local shop for sum breakfast rolls and home (breakfast is a novelty to me lol)
She was sooooooooo happy though, running about like crazy here there and everywhere it made me feel so good to see her in her element!! i know dogs tend to live for the moment but i just hope this giant walk today makes up for her few days of lead boredom!

Where we normally go in the fields is very boggy ATM and skye is in season so we mainly do street walking but we go every so often ( just have 2 very dirty dogs to clean after lol) but I love seeing them run

Its the same here, total swamp am usually sliding about like an idiot while she's having the time of her life! Somehow she managed to keep reasonably clean this time though, dunno how usually her pretty white socks are a distant memory!

Lovely pictures and you can see the happiness in her face. Boggy where we are too, be it the canal, fields or the woods.

Pleased to read that Diesel has been able to have some fun, if only a little. I'm sure her long walk has more than made up for the walks on lead.

I'm in a similar situation to you, Loki's recall has gotten terrible, so we just have on-lead walks, and I let him off the lead for a little while the past couple of walks and it's made him really happy, which then makes me happy
