another staffy

Hi all we have been considering getting another dog for a while now. We have had Miley for 7 months now and she is lovely im thinking about a companion for her and as we love staffys so much maybe rehome another rescue dog. We dont know much about the breed and wonder if a female or male would be suitable.

It would be great for Miley to have a friend and well done for considering a rescue dog.

If you do decide to go ahead contact the rescue centre you are thinking of to see if you can take Miley in with you to meet some possible new friends. Many rescue centres will advise you do this anyway so it will not be a strange request for them. Miley can then meet some new doggy friends under controlled conditions.

As Miley is a female a male friend may work well but then this is certainly not the rule. Good luck in your search, dont forget we will of course need to see many photos of your next addition.

Thanks we will be in touch with the rescue centre in south cave near where we live. They have already said if we take another staffy they will not charge the full price. We would ideally be looking for a younger dog so Miley can do a bit of mothering and also so we can train the younger dog too.

How exciting! I would love another but Moo wouldn't have it at all! Xx

Thats what we have to also consider as we dont know how Miley would react . She is fine with other dogs just plays with them no biting etc so we shall see

Hi welcome. I think she is a perfect age to get a friend and this is the perfect time to rescue a dog, esp as there is undoubtably going to be a big influx after christmas as usual, so it would be good to free up a kennel .

If you're not sure how Miley would react, if you find a dog you're keen on rescuing, just ask if you can bring Miley along to meet the dog or walk them together, see how they get on.
