considering flyball? tips anyone? learning?
My Seamus is totally mad about playing ball and was thinking flyball might be good for him.
Not sure how i would go about teaching him, if its possible to get equipment and teach him myself just for fun.
And also where i would find a flyball/agility club in my area
Anyone taught their dog flyball? Any advice or tips and general info? thanks

Moo did flyball for the first time at a fun dog show last year, took to it straight away! We haven't anything close to us that does it, but go for it, its great fun Xx

You don't say where your area is in your profile but just try google and sure it will come up with something to look into . I would love to try something like that myself but think the dog has to bring the ball back , and here lies the problem

lol sorry am in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. Think my best option may be to buy the equipment and teach him to play for fun.
I would try agility but as i am disabled and not able to run about with him etc, thats why i thought fly ball might be better, even if i have to adapt it a little.
So if any of you have any ideas or even know of anyone that does flyball or agility and uses a wheelchair or mobility scooter that would be good to know. thanks

Not relevant for your area but found this whilst googling and it does seem a sport suitable for the disabled, best of luck and please keep us updated

There are loads of Staffys in Flyball that do really well, in fact the top seeded team in the country boasts a rescue staffy called bear
