Re: my xena got op on tuesday
I hope Xena will recover quickly and i bet within days they'll be back to staffy stubbernness again lol
This may sound stupid or cheap but i take mine to a budget vets its kinda like cutting out the VAT the vets are just as qualified. I took my male ferret to MR evans near me to have his shattered leg removed after a stray cat attacked him, anyways it would of cost me £1700 for the leg removal and pins in his pelvis. i contacted budgets vets and it was £390 and he didn't actually need pins in his pelvis. Also i was watching this animal program and they were doing a tests on vets they had their own examin animals rabbitt, dog and cats and they were all healthy but when they took the animals to four or five different vets all the vets came up with oh the rabbitt needs its teeth clipped and clean and all this stupid rubbish that was complete lies just to get money. Seriousely though the vets I go to are amazing you just see the animals in their eyes not cash signs and they have saved me thousands on my pets and their all happy and healthy.
Also they are doing me a deal on Blondy's operation instead of paying for hernia fix and spaying their doing it the same time and i only have to pay for the spaying.

That sgood MissRogue! I wish all vets were as all honest as that and didnt see $$$$$$ every time you take your pets in! I understand they do have cost that need to be covered but the rest must just be profit surely!!

Vets often reminds me of pet shop owners they charge redictulous prices for the simpless of things. Mr evans charges £120 spay and neutering my vets charges £30 but an extra £5 for the health collar.
Mr evans charge £29 for flea treatment and and £34 for worming my vets £7-9 depending on weight of dogs the only bad thing about my vets is a vet is not on call 24/7 so i'd have to take my pets an emergency vets if soemthing happens in the middle of night.

Re: my xena got op on tuesday
I think to get Logan neutered it will be about £80 dependeing n his weight too. Worming tablets are about £10-£12, plus the consult time which is £20 alone! His Diarsanyl (for the runs) was about £ 15.
When Logan had all his scans and stuff last week at the specialist the scans were £300 each and they did about 4 or 5. I wanted to pick him up the following morning but the consultant only has pm pick up appts, so they stung me for the kennel fees for the day too - another £80!! Best thing is tho.....the treatment for his hydrocephalus was the tablets and they were the bloody cheapest thing on there!! £8 a pack!! And im sure they're for humans. I might just get some from the doctors and save myself a small fortune!

Re: my xena got op on tuesday
Ive always said this vets are a buisness and they compete with each other, most of the time they know whats wrong when you take your dog but do unesesary tests to bump up the price. My freind is a vet and she hates her job shes trying to get with a funded hospital like pdsa because they arnt profit makers. Miss Rouge you vet sounds amazing

Those prices sound about the same as mine. I stay with mine because they're so good with the animals - very patient & gentle.

Yer ditto, but I get the worming tablets off the net along with her food and its only a £1! Just a small saving in a big ocean, but every penny counts lol
