Starting with "look" training Empty Starting with "look" training

Post by Guest Thu Nov 22 2012, 13:18

Up until a couple of months ago Bella was great with other dogs, more or less ignored them on walks and was quite tolerant with the first few snaps from other dogs. Since she turned a year old it has changed almost overnight Surprised one sniff of noses (always on lead) and she lunges snarling, jeezoo the noise they make is something else. Sooo starting on "look" training with her. She's a real little grubber and loves food so fingers crossed it won't take too long for it to work.

Thanks Janey. She's been growling and pulling when she sees them across the street as well so I suppose the look is more useful for that lol. Bit late when they are already touching noses. Few days ago it was a huge yellow lab we were walking past, she didn't even do the sniff that time, just lunged as we passed them Sad He yelped but thankfully no damage to himthat I could see. I felt terrible and don't know how many times I apologised Sad

Moo does it when on lead sometimes also, I have no idea why as when she is off she is fine. I'm sure you'll get on top of it and yes it is certainly a handy tool to have Xx

It's one thing I suppose I really should have worked on from the start. She was always more interested in wanting to meet every person she saw and wasn't too bothered about dogs so I didn't really think of it.

I don't know what we would do without the look command. Always a bonus when you have a food motivated dog Big Grin
