Loki has no Manners...
Loki is a bit better when meeting dogs than he used to be. He used to just dive at them to play, whereas now he sniffs first and isn't quite as, you know, annoying. But he seems to always want to play and the other dogs never do most of the time. I don't know if it's because they happen to be laidback/older dogs that aren't as willing to play, or if he's just annoying them. I don't really know how to teach him to be more polite either. It's like the only way he'd learn is if I let them sort it out themselves, but that'd mean risking another dog hurting him, so that seems wrong. It's like he doesn't understand when a dog is getting sick of them.

Re: Loki has no Manners...
Moo hasn't got a lot of interest in other dogs, but we do have 1 dog a collie/cross who is her best mate. I think it is just finding a good play date that Loki can have.

I think age and experience has defo a lot to do with it when Diesel was younger she wanted to play with everything that moved whereas now she will only play with some dogs and just walk passed others, must be some kind of a signal they give out, cause all the ones she tries to play with usually play back

Sounds like Loki is growing up and calming down a bit, Rocky is going through this at the moment too. Some dogs he will have a sniff at and others he wont.

Re: Loki has no Manners...
The thing that confuses me the most though, is that only like four dogs we've ever met have actually played with him back. The rest of them just kind of stand there while he jumps around wanting to play. So the thing is just that I wonder if he's just been meeting dogs that aren't much into playing, or if Loki is the super-annoying, over-enthusiastic twit of the dog world

Not very many dogs will play with Suki either. I don't let it bother me though and she will still introduce herself to other dogs, have a sniff and try to play.

I don't mind much, just feel sorry for him, he's like the loser outcast of the dog world, the poor guy wants to be everyone's friend and they're having none of it. He sure does try though
