MAJOR DOMINANCE PROBLEM
Hi to all, im in desperate need of some help. My 14month old staffy bitch is dominating my 3 yr old male staffy so badly that my vet has advised putting the male on valium for severe depression. Does anyone have any experiences to share.

Re: MAJOR DOMINANCE PROBLEM
Oh poor you, what a worry.
I'm afraid that I have no advice to offer as I have no experience of this, but I am sure that others will be along shortly to offer their advice.
Wishing you and your dogs the best of luck in sorting this out.

Hmm no real experience on the scale u describe.
I have an 18mth old birch and 8mth male. They beat the crapp out if each other in a playful state, no aggression.
On occasions when my male pushes his luck my female will tell him
Off.
I intervene always if there play escalates. Feed then separately.
When left alone they are separated too.
A lot of it is to avoid any conflict, being 1 step ahead.
Apart from meds, has yr vet reccomrnded any kind if training for ur girl ?

Doggy valium? What a load of rubbish. And that still wont sort the problem, you need to tackel the cause. In what way is she dominant, when is it happening?
