Kyna - first few days
Kyna is doing very well. In three days, only one accident in the house. She has her 'home crate' that she sleeps in and where she is fed and watered. She has her travel crate in the car [I take her out to visit stores and businesses that do not have dog traffic normally] and she has her pen in the heated garage, where she loves to go chew a bone and socialize through the bars with the two cats.
All of this is very necessary, as winter here is long and cold, so outside is only good for elimination purposes for most of it!!! I am so happy she sleeps 8 hrs, then I can take her out, bring her back to her crate, give her a busy ball with some of her kibble in it, and go back to bed for another hr to hr and a half. Then, all three dogs go out, and come in for breakfast.
Play time in the living room, quick laps around the yard, training session, another yard trip, tie up at my desk to chew toys, another yard trip, more play, a sleep. On work days, a condensed version, then out in the garage or in her home crate, and I come home every two hrs to let her out.
Most people where I live do not understand that this type of routine creates good dogs, but they do wonder why mine are calm and easy going with whatever I ask of them. I imagine many of you have found the same thing--people think I am obsessed or something during early puppy hood.

She's adorable glad to hear she's doing so well, and sounds like a good little routine you have. Definitely a lot of people let their puppy get away with madness at first, but starting things off right makes it easier when they're older.

Sounds like you have good routine with lots of playtime, very important. We do the crate training over here too Rocky has his in the hall and just comes and goes as he pleases. Kyna is looking healthy and happy thats the main things sorted.

She certainly is learning fast, that is why I am so intent on teaching her each step right the first time. Just as in everything else, you get more efficient with each new dog, I have raised enough of them to know what works, and you just adapt it to each new canine personality.
I love this girl--I watched her litter from birth and decided on her for sure at 8 weeks, then left her with the breeder for that extra development time. She received lots of handling with little kids, lots of play time with various ages of staffies and a pom, and the beginning of crate and command training. It was certainly worth it to make all those trips to visit her--2 hrs away.
