back to school
So we went back to school today after a few months break since graduating obedience. Roxy was so well behaved - she used to get over excited at seeing other dogs and her instructor, but today she was calm and mature. She doesn't like her halti much and tends to scratch and roll, but it sure helps with the pulling.
We went to the dogtivities class, hoping to learn some new things to tire her out. There was a lot of heel, sit and down stay work, but they started working with stays off leash. The kid did good, but she is never thrilled at "having" to perform in class and does much better at home
We also go to do some agility work, but she hasn't done that since she was a pup and was a bit weary of the a-frame and tunnel. I bet by next week she's zooming thorough it all. Next we learnt send aways but these are going to take practice. And quite honestly, it's so hard sending that little face away! Finally, we learnt some clicker work and she has taken to that! Since getting home from school she has done a couple of roll overs and paw shakes thanks to the clicker. The result of the day? One fast asleep, stimulated and happy puppy
Got her a pigs ear as a well done, but that was buried instantly!
Oh, and we know how weary they are of water, but there was a lovely staffy who climbed straight into the little shell pool and was paddling away...needless to say Miss Roxy was straight in after class!
