How long?
Baileys pretty much used to the raw minces so doesn't have a clue what to do with the carcasses and tbh I don't think he's bothered with them. He never ate it this morning so it was put back in the freezer and put back down for his 2nd meal and he's not touched it, sniffs it and walks away!
My question is, how long do i hold out? Every other time he's not ate he's got something else he's not had a thing all day, so he should be hungry he's just being stubborn

Re: How long?
as long as it takes for him to eat it typically it can take a few days, just give him the carcass no mince or anything else until he eats it.
Dogs have gone 10-12 days without eating before giving in, without any problems to their health

I probably wouldn't go 10 or 12 days, but a day or two won't hurt. Has he had chicken wings?
Maybe to start with you could quarter the carcass?

I'll try and hold out haha, hard though cos I wanted a bit of weight on him for the winter months! Thanks

Yeah he's a bit hit and miss with wings though, thought something with a bit more meat would tempt him though.
The carcasses were pretty big so I've halved them and was giving him half.

Not all dogs go so loooong just saying that they can without health problems. Hopefully he'll give up in a day or two!

Think I have to admit defeat he's had nothing since Wednesday 4pm, he was sick yesterday but I put it down to the heat in the house and he's just been sick again this morning, I'll try him once more after his morning walk soon but if not I'll need to give him mince !

Re: How long?
I tried him with a bit of frozen mince and he wolfed it, nowhere near the amount he should get! Usually been giving him 600-700g a day but only gave him about 100g or so, so he should still be hungry, will try a quarter of carcass later!

Re: How long?
Novice question here- see when you carcass say is it just a bare carcass or like a full blown chicken? Ive seen this on quite a lot of things but still unsure, cause a thought too much bone wasnt good?

Re: How long?
Bare carcass. Just a full chicken with the good bits removed lol! The ones from DAF have the necks and organs still attached though.

A chicken carcass is fine to give along side other foods, it's about balancing the diet over a period of time
