Bruce wont eat his own food!
Hi Guys
For the past week or two Bruce just wont eat his own food, i have given him everything from dry (james well be loved) to wet like Butchers, Pedigree so on and so on!!! he is healthy and been wormed not do long ago, he just looks at his food sniffs it and walks away, but as soon as we are not looking he will make a dash to eat poppy the cats food!! and he even sits there watching me eat in hope of some, but i tell him no and send him to his bed.
I have even tried walking him longer to see if it builds up a greate appitite but he still is not intrested. I dont like to leave food oput for him but last night i had no choice as he had not ate all day, woke up and he had ate the lot.
Please, any advice welcome.
Cheers

Re: Bruce wont eat his own food!
Sounds like you have answered your own question there. Leave it down for about 10 minutes if he doesn't eat it move it away, he will not let himself starve. Try to make sure that he cannot get to any other food until he has eaten his own at least.

Agree with Kathy and if you can move the cat food out of his reach

Try sticking to one food, they won't starve themselves but I do leave Moo's down, she has a nibble, wonders off but comes back to it later. Cats food smells better so I am told so maybe add some sardines into it, all I will say though if you do mix it they tend to expect it Xx

As Kathy says, put the food down for 10 minutes & if he doesn't eat it take it up. Then nothing at all until next meal time. A healthy dog won't let himself starve!

tough love i'm afraid, stop offering other foods, put his down for 10 mins and take up what isn't eaten. Give no treats or extras inbetween and wait it out
