About time!!
About time we made owners responsible for the actions of their dogs.. I think this is a good policy, what do you all think?
New research
The NSW government has released a policy to protect the public from dangerous dogs and to reduce the number of dog attacks in that state.
The policy states that anyone who owns a dog which has attacked more than once will be banned from keeping dogs for life.
The slogan 'Two bites and you're out' reflects the attitude that it is the deed and not the breed of dog which makes a dog dangerous. In some cases this is true and owners need to be responsible for their animals.

Re: About time!!
Hahaa yeah we will see.. Honestly I don't see how it will be enforced I'm sure there will be many loopholes in the legislation.. Starting to thing it was a kneejerk reaction to placate the public after a spate of dog attacks..

This is a salient point - if attacks on humans then a muzzle? If attacks on dogs then it's a bit harsh.

I guess it is meaning if an owner has a dog that attacks a person, and remember these are reported attacks, so I don't think it would include a nip or a bite even, but an attack.. And that dog is pts then that owner goes out and gets another dog and that one attacks too, that person can never again own a dog (legally) but like I said I think in theory it is a good idea, I mean if someone owns 2 dogs and both attack then obviously its something they are doing wrong!! But I also think there would be lots of loopholes (saying its a spouses dog, it's not their dog etc and still be able to raise and handle dogs.. I do love the logo though "Blame the deed, not the Breed"
