Sleepy Overheard Conversation

Post by Kathy Sun Oct 21 2012, 13:25

I took Rocky out on my own for his walk yesterday morning and we had a really lovely walk. He met many of his friends while going around the park as we stuck to the pathway because the grass was quite wet.

We got to nearly the end of the walk and we were on our way back to the car park. There were two women with dogs standing in the middle of the path (as they do) chatting away to each other. As I approached them I went onto the grass to walk around them so Rocky didnt have the opportunity to jump up as he can do with some people. I heard one woman say to the other,
"That's the dog that attacked my dog". Now I know that Rocky, in past, has had a spat with the occasional dog at the park because of silly people not being aware of whats going on around them, but I cannot remember this dog being one of them.

I hope she is not spreading malicious rumors about Rocky around the park, that would incur my displeasure.

Definitely Kathy, do you see her very often? I'm sure you would remember if Rocky had had a little scrap with her dog. Take no notice, seems the cross we have to bear for having such amazing dogs is these $%$**^%£$$£s!!!! (I don't even know what that word is but it suits them!)

I very nearly did Dave, but I was in such a good mood after having such a lovely walk with Rocky and didnt want to ruin the day.

Guess I should have though.

Another thing is the lady she was telling this to has a dog that Rocky loves to play with and know quite well now, just hope she chooses not to listen to the lies. Sad

We took Duke into a country park today for his second walk we know that there are loads of dogs being walked on a Sunday so thought what a good place to socialize him .

Everything went well Duke met lots of Dogs most were friendly towards him a couple growled one a German Shepherd pup off the lead but Duke took it all in his stride , then it happened as we walked up a path a Woman was approaching with her young Daughter , the girl said look Mummy it's one of those naughty Dogs , we were shocked and it did take the shine of the day although we were later invited into a large circle of Dogs on a field there by a very nice couple , pleased to say Duke did us proud .

i feel your pain.....took boys to the beach with the kids to do some rock pooling. Had a great time....kaos offlead playing with all the other dogs and running about like a loon in the the sea. Even Ty had some off lead time with a particular dog which was amazing to watch and literally bought a tear to my eye (he is awful with other dogs for those who dont no Ty). On our way back to the carpark a big black off lead lab approached the dogs....i didnt even see it coming let alone the boys and all hell kicked off....it was slightly embaressing as a policeman on his pushbike was admiring the view at the time. I think i made it all worse by shouting at this woman for letting her bl**dy dog near my dogs without my say so in the first place Blushing nevermind!
Why is kaos such a mouthy little bu**er onlead?? He had this really deep throated growl and really does make a seen with some dogs, he is worse than Ty. Off lead he is the most perfect well mannered dog u could ask for and is so gentle even which little dogs......strange! x

If he's only had bad experiences with a few dogs, you'd probably remember them. But why would she blatantly lie? That's a weird one. Weird people out there I guess. Shame, I hope no-one believes her.

I have a personal suspicion (not even an opinion, just a suspicion as I have seen this many times) that some dogs when on the lead feel more vunerable than when they are off the lead. When they are on the lead they know they cannot run away from an attack, so the fearful aggression mode kicks in.
