Re: Good price for a blue female?
I tried contacting the breeders of this pup to ask a few questions such as the pup's parentage. They are very evasive & would only give me the pet names at first. They eventually gave me the registered names of sire & dam Dreaming of Blue & Blue Sue), but haven't given me any further details of the pedigree.
To be honest, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

I agree somewhat of your post but as in the horse shows there are different breeds presented and the particular judge that day may have a liking to cobs the next judge not but we are talking about judging the sbt against the sbt.lolalollypop wrote:dog shows sound just like the horse shows we go too.we dont enter milly because i dont think she would win anyting but mainly cus she takes 3 hours to load in her box lol.but our sister enters her cob (working class horse wth lots of feather) and some weeks wins nothing some weeks wins loads.weve reallised wich judge likes her wich judges dont so try to aviod them. i know it not inkeeping with the topic just wanted to say shows are realy clicky and fickle watever animal you are showing

Don't know if they're bent as such, but I don't think too much thought has gone into the breeding - I think they're breeding for colour & little else.
I'm sure you've already told told him this, but he can get much better than that for the same price or just a little more.

Re: Good price for a blue female?
I'm a bit sick of hearing blue this blue that blue are just diluted, Blue is a recognised breed standard colour and always has been, its just a colour on in its own right that has become popular and because of this certain breeders feel they can charge more and they can if people will pay it, the buyer doesn't have to pay over the odds i didn't moan over

Re: Good price for a blue female?
The thing with this particular breeder is that they seem to breeding purely for colour, not conformation or 'breed type'. That's a very slippery slope to go down.
I'm really not fussed over colour, although I prefer coloured to white (just a personal opinion, nothing wrong with white!), I just think that breeders should look for a stud to compliment their bitch's virtues & correct her faults - whatever colours come from that are all ok for me.

Re: Good price for a blue female?
Hey, Claire, I emailed those breeders yesterday asking for pics of the parents & whether there were any well known dogs in the pedigree. Up to now they haven't bothered to reply. Read into that what you will!

lol he calls everyone bent but when he asked about parents names and if their related or anything they wouldn't answer him or ask him to call later so when he did call later just sounded like their were reading out rather than actually knowing it. and yes Caryll he has not recieved pictures either he's not interested in the pup anyway but he wants to know their angle he always does.

Re: Good price for a blue female?
My dad bought Charlie for me, he was £300 which at first I was reluctant to accept from my dad cos it seemed like alot of money for him to spend on a puppy for me, but now that I have Charlie, I'd pay three times that amount for him as he really is the best dog in the world (well, joint best wth all of yours of course!) If someone has the money, and wants to pay £800 for a dog, that's up to them.
The banned list by the way is Pitbull, Dogo Argentino, Fila Braziliero and Japanese Tosa. The last thee are types of Mastiff, I looove the English Matiff and would have one of them as well if Ihad a big enough house

UK banned breeds:

I like the English Mastiff to look at, but I'd hate to have one. I saw some at crufts a couple of years ago, and they were so huge. Too big for me.

Re: Good price for a blue female?
I love the giant breeds. My hubby loves the great danes and I love mastiffs and newfoundlands. Mastiffs have got an incredible temperament, very loving loyal dogs, just like our staffs, only 3 or 4 times heavier! I really do love them but just dont have the room. If our house was bigger, we'd definitely have a couple of staffies, a mastiff, a newfoundland and a great dane. That would be my perfect pack
