Aggression on the lead
Poor axl is a nightmare to walk no matter what I've tried I can't get him to stop pulling me about and he also is he sees another dog he pulls and goes mental to get to it but if the dog come over to him axl snaps and gets aggressive its getting to were I can't face taken him out for long walks any more in case there's another dog off its lead that runs up to axl does any one have any advice of things to try. Feels like I can't get his attention while out. Indoors his such a gd boy and plays nicely with my other dog and also with my mums dogs out outside its a different story thanks for reading

Re: Aggression on the lead
People shouldnt let their dogs come up to yours if on a lead, so that is their point not yours. Have you taken him to any training classes. Used the watch me command before they see another dog or to gain their attention -from the other dog, as for pulling, some of these anti - pulling harnesses etc are quite good and theres always the stop and not move till they stop pulling, it can take for ever but eventually does work or you turn them in the other direction, basically going round in circles.
Ive been there with my other dog who was very lead aggressive, it is so horrible and walking is a chore! Hope you get it sorted.
You can have private sessions with a trainer and some trainers have dogs that they use to help your dog get used to being with other dogs.
Good luck

Re: Aggression on the lead
Have you tried turning and going in the opposite direction when he pulls?
The watch me command also works well. Place a treat in your hand and let him sniff and than start walking, he should follow with an eye on the food. After a little bit let him have the treat and repeat.
Squeaky toys are also good for getting their atention

Re: Aggression on the lead
Standing still worked for me with Loki, but if you've tried that then it can't hurt to turn around and walk the other way. The watch me command is a brilliant thing to teach the dog too (if not already). Loki isn't aggressive, but he does want to meet other dogs and people so much, so he pulls when dogs and people are close to us. The watch me command has helped a lot. Still need more training with it, but it definitely makes it easier to walk past a dog when he isn't completely focused on it. It might not make it perfect, but in my opinion it makes it easier to walk him past without too much messing about.
