Do you think he might be cold? Empty Do you think he might be cold?

Post by jola139 Tue Oct 16 2012, 07:10

For the last 2 nights Debo hasn't slept very well,I could here him moving around,he even has had a hicup. I never put heating on at night because we're always warm. Tonight I think Debo was also scared a bit of he noises outside,it was really windy. Also I've heating on for this morning for 6am ( I wake up at 7 and like warm) and after 10 min he satle down. My OH said, not to be silly ,it's just a dog. But could he be cold, that's why he moves around?

I think so. Like you we dont have the heating on in the night. What I have done is brought Pixee a lovely pink fleece that she sleeps in at night now, she does also have a quilt, an old one of ours, light weight, that we cover over her at night time. If she kicks the quilt off, no worries cos she is still warm in her fleece.

He could be. He is "just a dog" but that "just a dog" is conditioned to the heat, then at night hasn't got that. Staffs who live inside only have thin coats, so feel the cold a lot more. My girl lives outside and was always fine when she had her partner in crime (a hooge fluffy labx) but last year she lost a lot of weight through pining and probably cold too. This year i am putting a thick carpet lining in her kennel and going to give her my quilt cause i need a new one.

Ralph fidgets about at night and jumps up and tries to get under the covers. He stays under there for a bit then gets out again, so I'm thinking he may be cold? I've ordered him a little fleece, so I'll try that too!

I woke up the other morning to find Ledger right under the duvet and tucked in along my legs, that was the morning that I had to de-ice the car and he was not impressed when I put him out in the conservatory with my parents springer/collie x they usually just co-exist but that morning he snuggled up to her

Rocky loves to make a little nest on our bed with the duvet and it must be just right before he will settle down to sleep, then he does the walking around bit to get it just so. If he gets too warm he is sometimes sick though, so have keep a look out for him being too warm.

Dex seemed to get cold just on top of the bed, he has what is known as the "scrunkle", which is a fluffy throw that we have had for years. If I say get the scrunkle he grabs it and tries to roll himself up in it Laughing

Could be. They don't really have coats suited to the cold like other breeds, so they will still get cold. Loki hasn't given any indication that he's cold, but if he does, I'll be buying him a coat. You could just put a cover over Debo, but if he's anything like Loki, he'll wriggle out of it and just start playing Laughing

I think they do get cold, Callie likes to get under one part of her fleece blanket and lie on the other part.

He has his blanket in cage but he kickes it off and the noises I could hear I think it was him trying to get back under it but fail.
