First topic message reminder :

Is it true that neutering males early can stunt their growth and cause problems?

The humping stopped without command or training. He was also getting erections at that young age. This all stopped with the snip. It's strange, but true.

And like I said, his Behaviour with other dogs is impeccable.

I must also add that he has matured in my eyes in the last 2 months. For eg a few weeks ago he was nipping and growling at me and this has all now stopped. I don't think his mindset has been frozen, as I have seen maturing since his little operation in August.

It isn't strange at all. A male human baby gets 'erections' & will want to 'fiddle' with himself - it's nature. But it has nothing to do with hormones or the lack. The stopping of humping, if it didn't stop by training or command (did you always just let him do it, then?) is coincidental to the neutering.

The fact that it all stopped after being neutered "is strange but true". not the fact that he was humping or having erections. You may have misinterpreted my post, or at least what I intended.

And yes, when he would try hump us we would reprimand him. However the vast majority of the time he would hump his doggie bed. We would see him from afar as we were upstairs. He was doing it almost obsessively, very much focused on positioning the bed between his legs and then going for it It was a massive " coincidence " as you put it that this obsessive Behaviour stopped as soon as he was neutered.
