Betterment of the breed
Hello everyone as the title says Ive heard this comment many many times but still dont fully understand it so was just wondering what everyone thinks about it and its meaning

In my eyes you are referring to brreding for the betterment of the breed , so thi is just about maintyaining standards , ironing out illnesses inherent in the dogs and producing a nice well rounded healthy dog with a good temperament

Yes, I'd agree with Dave on that. If you're going to breed you should first make sure that your dog (and the stud/brood you want to mate it to) is a good example of the breed, with plenty of good points that could go towards making the breed healthier.

Tomminator would stand proud in his own right , he has a proper swagger now and over the last few days he's started growing outwards instead of upwards , he has the "watch this space " look in his eyes and noticed Tilly has stopped knocking him over in the garden, think she's finally realised better to be friends than enemies

Betterment of the breed is not a hyena staffy cross, even though her colours are stunning and she has an amazing temprement, great build, perfect family pet but in laymans terms a mongral Xx

Same here, Max is quite a way from the standard really at a little over !8" ... next to a good standard staffy he looks more like one of his american cousin's from across the pond bless him :-$
