The house is also 15 yrs old, so it seems a fitting place for Kita to call her last home

Dave I have to be realistic
She is really struggling now. She wakes me up at least once if not twice overnight to go the ladies, but she has no idea where she is, where the outside door is and so there is generally a little puddle that needs cleaning up, long before I've even heard her.
We so wanted to get settled in our own home again for her, I really do not want to be living in some other persons house, stressing every day and night as this wont help her in the long run.
I've laid it on the line to her and told her I want another few years, but she is a shadow of her former self and every few weeks she passes blood stained urine........(sometimes worse than others).
The vet treats her for a UTI at $150 a pop, but I'm beginning to think it is more sinister and unless I spend around $600 for an ultrasound (which still may not be conclusive, therefore requiring more invasive investigations) to find out there is a real nasty going on (which I wont try and treat or operate on as I know she is not strong enough anymore)..........
I'm stuck between a rock and hard place. She still has her famous appetite and her little spark, but she hates cuddles and "jumps" when you try to pat her. I often just sit on the floor for a good 5 minutes waiting for her to come over, (often she turns the other direction and I have to go an intercept her).
It really must be so hard when you can't see very well or hear what is going on around you. Fortunately Izzy is her main radar......
This is part of the reason I'm not on here as often as I used to be.....my heart is breaking just a little more each day

Re: New house..........(fingers X'd)
awww Lee it must be so heartbreaking for you to see her slowly diminish. You're quite right to enjoy each day you have together and make the most of it. It is sadly something we all have to come to terms with eventually, I know i have been there before and know the heartache. It took me about 15 years years before I could have another dog after losing my Judy, that was too long though really looking back.
Enough of this morbid talk, best of luck in your new home, hope the move goes well, at least you should have good weather for it.
