I want to get another staffy
So I was hoping to get another Staffy but everywhere I look to buy a staffy, they live to far away from me so I can't get it. Is there anyway to like get people to drive the dog from where ever the dog is to my house? I'm not to sure if that made sense but what I want to know is if somehow if the dog is to far away, if there is a way to get the dog to me, without me having to drive all the way to where the dog is?

Re: I want to get another staffy
You have to meet the dog before you commit to him , what about introductions for Dragon ??

Re: I want to get another staffy
Yea I was thinking of a website that's trustworthy and that I can trust to pay first and if anything goes wrong, send the dog back and get my money back of course.
Yes that's my only problem that Dragon might not get a long with it, but I'm sure with a bit of effort I could get them two getting a long, hopefully.
But I've always wanted a red staffy and maybe even try to get Dragon a girlfriend.
But either way what do you suggest I do? Since there's no staffys for sale where I live, I couldn't find any that are decent, from decent people, since the area where I live is full of ''chavs'' and people who threat there dogs bad and I also wanted a pure staffy, not a cross and trusting this people aint easy.

There are pet transport companies but I wouldn't even consider getting another dog without introducing them first and it wouldn't be very fair on the dog if you had to send it back because they didn't get on.

The rescue we used were fabulous, we met them and Dexter at a neutral place initially so we could see him and vice versa and then they brought him to us on the day for his weeks 'trial' (makes me laugh now) as we are non drivers. If and when we have another somewhere down the line we would take Dex with us for intros and play it carefully by ear. Good luck whatever you choose to do

1 of the perils of living in holiday land I'm afraid but you have to make the journey, research some breeders near yourself and start from there

Re: I want to get another staffy
I think you'd have to make the effort if it was that important to you, simply because you'll have to see how Dragon gets on with the other dog. I'd suggest a rescue Staff because obviously then you'd be able to meet the dog first and see how Dragon is with it, but I assume you've already ruled that out since you're asking about breeders and whatnot.

I would also advise making the trip to see how your current dog gets along with the potential new comer

Don't even think about it yet. You still don't have full control over Dragon. Wait at least another 6 months, or even more, preferably, and then see how things are.

Sorry I agree with Caryll, and the "dial a staffy" idea is just not right IMO, if you dont want to drive to find the right pup for you .. you dont want the right pup enough I'm afraid !!
I'm not wanting to sound rude by the way, just my opinion

I think Joe's too young to drive!
Really, you should be looking at being totally confident with Dragon before you even consider getting another dog. Don't forget that not only will the dog have to get on with Dragon (and vice versa) but also with your parents' dog (a lab, I think?). You will also have to consider the cost of looking after another dog - not just food & bedding/collars/leads etc but also vets fees, insurance, replacement of anything that is damaged by either dog.
It's a huge commitment, and one I would say you're not yet ready to take on. I hope you're not offended by me saying that, I just feel that it wouldn't be the right time yet for you.

Even more so then ... freinds, family, train, planes, etc

Agree with Caryll aswell as Andy! Personally I'd rather travel to get the right pup, I'm lucky as I can drive though, not sure how far I'd be willing to go if I had to bus/train etc. my new pup is roughly a 8-9 hour drive and 500-ish mile round trip lol!
