disapointed
so, remeber how my friend was looking to adopt a staffy. well they did, a 4 yr old staff and a 3 year old frenchie X. well after having them for 2 days, they sent them back.
the reasons where the following
i was rather annoyed after all the work i went into finding them that dog and then to have them give up after two days. Those poor, poor dogs
they told me that the dogs where just bouncing off the walls and humping each other an all bonkers like. when i got there to have a look they where perfect angels, but apparently this is because the frenchie is rather mellow fellow (they liked him, and would have liked to have kept him but it was both or none) and the staffy... was as high as a * kite on doggy valium. The staffy, apparently had anxiety issues, which i know can happen... but apparently he also had ADHA....a ADHD staffy...NAHHH YOU DONT SAY!
so the dog was pretty much sitting there blinking at the wall.
I was so angry at the whole thing i couldnt say anything, since i'm best friend with the girl who didnt want the dogs and i knew if i gave her a chewing out about the whole thing, i'd have my face screamed off.
so yeah.... poor babies
In other news Romeo appears to be walking like he's got bloody jake leg or something so i am taking him to see a specilist this month, and also he will be getting his x-yas of his knees and hips to get his health report. you know, to grade his joints and health and stuff. hiw who litter will be done at the same time, his breeder wants to know how all the puppies are before she breeds from the mother again or from the one bitch she kept from the litter.
so poor romeo is in for one heck of a month... oh and he will be getting his one year Vacc's as well
the reasons where the following
- too much energy
- too many behaviour problems
- one of them having mild allergies to the dogs
- one of them having a bad month, didnt want to deal with the effort

Re: disapointed
you and me both. if he had bad hips or elbows i wont be allowed to do any sports with him D:
Re: disapointed
i also really hope that the owner of those poor dogs finds the right home for them, she would probally have better luck rehoming them as individuals, but she wants to keep them together. when i saw them i think they could totally go as individuals, they didnt seem that fussed by each other in the least... their dynamics where totally off
Re: disapointed
was this the one you were asking us about a while ago for a UK rescue or am I getting confused with someone else ??

Re: disapointed
nope that was the one. i'm so glad that they DIDNT get a rescue from england now!
The one who wanted the dog was pretty good about it all, it was their roommate that was 'NO'

Oh yes, might have been a tad awkward if you'd been able to make it happen from the UK, sometimes as your friend has proven it's just way better not to get involved

Re: disapointed
Hi Taryn, understand your disappointment - just hope the poor pups do find a new happy home. Don't worry too much about Romeo - my Madge developed weird hoppiness and still does it, but nothing found wrong from scans etc. Clearly not in pain and just put down to a "terrier thing". Good luck anyway.

Re: disapointed
he doesnt so much walk, its like his right leg stiffened and he kind of... waddles a little... its very odd
Re: disapointed
Really bummed for those dogs, but it is better to find out that they really aren't dog people early on. Wouldn't it be worse to find out 6 months from now when they began to settle?
Hope Romeo is ok.

Re: disapointed
Two days, that's hardly enough time to get settled in. Poor dogs, hope they find the right home and hope Romeo is fine too

Re: disapointed
That's a shame to hear about hope they find somewhere to settle properly soon. The shortest adoption I've heard of us is four hours A lady took a heinz 57 in and she had cats, the dog was down as cat friendly but the silly woman left them all downstairs at night unsupervised within an hour of the dog getting to her, then rang the dog fosterers at midnight saying "take him back he's chasing the cats!"
