big bad staffy!

Went for our walk this morning and there was a chap out on the path with his daughter she must have been about 2 and her face lit up when she saw Ledger and stopped right infront of him. I got him to sit and watch me and said it was ok for the girl to come closer she reached out and poked him at which he turned nose to nose with her and nuzzled her face with this she opened her hand and stroked him gently.

Her dad thanked me and we both went on our way it was just one of those moments that you wish could be witnessed by the people that believe all the horror stories.

Nice story but some people are so set in their ways that no amount of proof to the contrary will change their minds. I do hope Loki can be like this when he's older though. At the moment he's too exciteable to appeal to anyone but dog-lovers

Well done. Suki is a huge fan of little kids as well.

Aw that's lovely to hear about. Dex changed our posties mind about staffs this morning, he always barks when the door goes but this morning I decided to open the door and let him say hello to the postman who told me that's one of the few dogs that hasn't growled at him for being on the doorstep. Dex only wanted a nosy and a love!

I did have a heart in mouth moment when she poked him as since he has been with me he has had no contact with children apart from the odd encounter in P@H or the park and they have all been older but it was like he was training her (I think she was Polish so probably didn't have a clue when I said to be gentle)

Molly made a friend of a little boy about 8 years old in the pet shop today. Was lovely to see nice when people see they're not child eating savages

love hearing stories like this. before we got buster we were on a family walk with our niece and a young staffy sprinted across a field, i got close by as it was a strangers dog and didn't know how it'd react. it skidded to halt in front of her but stopped a second to late in true staffy excitment fashion and knocked her on to her bum, she just laughed at it and it started licking all the mud off hwer it was brilliant.
