Idiots...
On my way to visit my nan, some idiots threw a lit firework at the car. Am I missing the point here? When did the idea of blowing people up become mischief and fun as opposed to, you know, assault/attempted murder? It's not even like these people are trying to kill people, so how stupid do you have to be to think throwing a firework at someone won't have any possible bad consequences? Least it was only at the car, some people throw them at people. Just needed to have a little rant

I share your confusion!
Many years ago (too many to remember exactly - I was only about 5 or 6 years old!), I was going to school with my mum. In those days people regularly opened their door first thing ion the morning & let the dog out. It would then roam around until it was hungry & go back home (always hated that!). We were near the school when my mum saw a group of kids, can't remember their ages but they were older than me, & mum thought they ought to be at school so she went over. Well, they scattered, leaving a little jack russell type with burning fireworks tied around it!
My mum quickly took her coat off & wrapped it tightly round the dog to put the fuses out & then she yelled blue murder at these kids, who were laughing. She had the last laugh, though. She knew the mother of one of them & she got the whole lot in trouble for it - they were even made to stand up in the school assembly & apologise to God & everybody else for what they'd done.
So dangerous.

Re: Idiots...
They just do not have the capacity to think about their actions obviously.
Caryll, I hope the little dog was OK afterwards must have been terrified, poor thing. Quick thinking by your Mum there.
As for throwing fireworks at cars, did you report the incident?

Re: Idiots...
Disgraceful.Fireworks should only be avaliable to shows or people who apply for some kind of licence to use them for an event like a birthday or whatever.Allowing anyone to buy explosives is just madness.

They just don't have the capability to think before they do, and I don't get when that became funny either!

Re: Idiots...
It does make you wonder what goes through some people's heads.
About 15 years ago I was out riding my horse when some teenager decided it would be a good idea to throw a lit fire work at the horse. Absolute idiot.

The poor dog see that's verging on the psychotic right there. Insane what some people's idea of fun is, especially at such a young age. You wonder what happened to make them see things like that as OK.

Re: Idiots...
Teenagers today or most of them are not mature enough to be in possession of fireworks i agree there should be firework displays only, i hate fireworks because one late October day i was walking home from school a boy near me threw a lit banger into a girls bag she was carrying a meal of stew and dumplings from her cookery class, well it went everywhere, there was a teacher 5 yards at the back and he made his mind up i threw the banger , he walloped me round the ear hole and god did it hurt a ringer my Dad called it , it hurt more because i didn't throw it

Re: Idiots...
Yet another incident with idiots, but this time they lit a firework right next to me and Loki (aiming for some boys near us) when we were walking to the field. Naturally, Loki shot off and dragged me to the field, terrified. The good news is that no-one got hurt, and fortunately when we got to the field, Loki's favourite dog was there, so he soon cheered up and had a good little play. You could tell that Buster (the friend) was on-edge though, he didn't play as much as usual. His owner told me that he'd chased after the teenagers who set off the fireworks, so although I'm glad he didn't attack them, I couldn't help but think "good on you, Buster ". To be honest, I think I'll just stop taking Loki out at this time until firework season is over.
