my staffie is trembling and looking weak today
[b] can anyone tell me why my staffie is trembling today and feeling weak that she does not jump around ? i am trying to keep her warm and hand feeding her water with a pinch of salt and teaspoon of sugar as adviced by the vet....i am just a lil worried about her...any suggestions to what might be wrong with her today ? the weather has been very windy and cold and raining for last two days here in birmingham.

Re: my staffie is trembling and looking weak today
Hi & welcome to the forum.
She may have caught a bit of a chill. What's her poo like? Is it diarrhea or normal?
Keep her warm & out of draughts & if she's no better in the morning pop her to the vets.

Jellybean just was in a similar state a few weeks ago, and after sleeping on it, the next morning after her walk she was fine. We even had a vet appointment scheduled and after seeing her walking around she was so OK that we cancelled. Nothing like it since. VERY disturbing though! good luck!

Our Dusty had a slightly runny pooh this morning does this mean that she may have caught a chill? What actions should I take. Worried as I made her go out last night in the rain, just for a little while and when we came back in she snuggled in her blanked.

Re: my staffie is trembling and looking weak today
Pups often get little upsets - most of them clear within hours. Just keep an eye on her; if she's happy enough in herself it'll probably just go away. If it happens again, try leaving out one meal & then giving her something easily digestible like chicken & rice or scrambled egg & see if that helps.
I don't take chances with pups - if the runs continue for more than 24 hours I'm down the vets. They can go downhill so fast with dehydration.
Things to watch out for are really runny poos (totally watery), general 'off' behaviour, not drinking & high temperature (hot dry nose & a feeling of hotness around the bare-ish skin of the belly/inside thighs).
