rain
Hi just want to know who's staffies wont go for a walk in the rain.
My tash, 15 weeks, refuses, plonks her bottom on the floor and refuses, ive started to carry her a bit and then try but she plonks that bottom on the floor until i head in the direction of home.
My friends staffie does the same and my trainer says she walks some staffies who do the same.
So is it a staffy trait?

Re: rain
Not all, but Moo will walk around a puddle and the rain is the devil in disguise! I have to literally drag her out!

Re: rain
Loki hates the rain too, he peed in the house today, despite being toiler-trained, because he just wouldn't go outside lol. I've ordered him a warm/waterproof coat, so we'll see what he makes of that .

Re: rain
Haven't met many staffies who like the rain.
I take them to toilet under an umbrella.

Re: rain
Kuchar's the same. I thought he was just being a complete wuss until I read on this excellent website that hatred of the rain is a "staffy thing". I don't mind not walking in the rain - I can live with that and chuck some toys around the room to use up his excess energy - but am not thrilled that after 6 months of house training, and just when it got cracked, that Kuchar has decided that it is more convenient to wee or poo in the house again, rather than get his paws or - God forbid his back - wet outside in the garden! :-(

Re: rain
I started a new plan making the most of this lovely weather. As there are frequent showers at the moment I wait until it is dry, take them out, and keep them out until it starts to rain. We then stay out for about another ten minutes. They may not like it but are getting used to it

Re: rain
Hugo like walking in the rain, he will do a number 2 but my god it's hard to get him to pee in the rain.
Supposed he will get used to it now this time of year.
