Name change
We would quite like to change Denzils name (new home and new start and all that) - we would love to call him Dexter, and as he answers to Denz aswell as Denzil we have been saying "Dex" so far as it sounds a little similar and this seems to work. However I don't know if it's ok to do this, or if we are going about it in the right way I suppose. Anyone had a rescue and changed their name?

Re: Name change
I rescued Moo and she was called Missy, certain people still call her Missy, I just feel Moo suits her way better! As mentioned a lot of it is to do with tone

Re: Name change
Yeah. My old dog was a rescue; his name was Butch and we changed his name to Zac. They sound nothing alike, but it's just about consistency, they eventually learn to respond to it. I mean, it's about tone too; you can call them anything in the right tone and they'll look at you.

Dont forget to contact the insurance company to change the documents, and also his chip details would need to be updated too. Good luck, sounds like a great name.

Re: Name change
Call him by his new name and reward him when he responds. Shouldn't take too long
