Newbie
Hi All
Im new to the forum. I've grown up with Staffy's all my life. I've got 2 at my parents house - Buzz who is 5 and Max who is 2. I am moving out soon into my new house and have already brought a pup with my partner. He's nearly 3 weeks old now and we've called him Gary. Does anybody have any tips for in the future so that he doesn't become a house wrecker! As a puppy Max managed to chew through a wall and has destroyed my parents kitchen table and chairs, I really dont want Gary to do this!! Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed

Re: Newbie
Hi. I'm afraid I'm only repeating what I've read on here, because our two also destroyed ditto of what happened at your parents!! Vick is the thing we've read, as they don't like it, smear it over any items you want protected, also the obvious.....plenty of chewy's and lots of walks. Our two also benefited from lots of training games, it mentally wore them out!! Best of luck with Gary and congrats on becoming a soon to be staffy mummy and daddy!

Re: Newbie
Lots and lots of time spent training . There's no way around them chewing things they're not meant to at first, it's just how it is. As long as you're consistent in your training, they'll eventually stop. When Loki chewed things, I'd just say, "No," and give him something he's allowed to chew on. Didn't work at all at first to be honest but he never chews anything he's not meant to anymore, and if he goes to mess with something he's not meant to, he'll leave it alone. So teaching leave it is a good one too.
