Cats n dogs...
I have 2 cats (maybe that should be 'had' since they only come home at night to feed now) but Daisy constantly chases them off.
Every morning, Daisy will check the kitchen, thoroughly sniffing around for them (she'll check out their bed and where their food dispenser is located (out of her reach on the table).
How can I stop Daisy chasing them? I don't even know why she is so interested in them. I'm not sure what she'd do if one stopped around long enough but she is an extremely playful 14 month old. She is more alert when she sees cats than she is when she sees other dogs (you can imagine how hyper she gets!)
Any help appreciated.

Re: Cats n dogs...
Sorry but I'm not a cat person at all, never had one. I'm more of a dog person tbh. Hope you can find the answer though, good luck.

you need to have the cats in and tell Daisy the leave command distract her whenever she is showing an interest in the cats (i dont have cats but i had a rabbit that was free to roam wherever she wanted) ..it took us a good couple of weeks but eventually he learned that the rabbit was here to stay and was part of the family too

Thanks Roz, that seems like an option, controlled environment and distraction treats/firm command. I'm just worried about the 'terrier' instinct in Daisy.

I should go with what Roz has said, keep her on a lead so you are in control. To be honest I wouldnt worry about her hurting the cats too much, they are very good at looking after themselves. I think with a lot of dogs it is more the thrill of the chase than anything else. When the cats are stationary and stop moving then she should be easier to distract. What does she do when the cats are eating their food?

Re: Cats n dogs...
Lead - good idea! I'd have forgotten that!
The cats are never around when the dog is loose in the house - they bolt straight outside.
When the cats come in at night, I shut the kitchen door between them so Daisy has the hallway and the cats have the kitchen/diner.
Daisy also knows what the cats bells sound like...
I'm thinking more positively about the suggestions made above though
Many thanks!
