something is serious wrong with my xena

I'm going to the vet soon, she not all there she wont eat any of her fave food etc. tuna or cheese and when you call her she don't even take any notices

Lots of healing thoughts on the way for Xena. I hope it i something simple and easy to heal.

Steve, it may be a mild stroke. If it is, there's probably not too much to worry about. Dogs normally get over mild strokes in a matter of a couple of weeks & generally have little or no lasting effects.

Don't forget to let us know.

Did the vets say what was wrong?

they not sure they going to do blood tests and other things

Poor little thing. When will they let you know what they've found?

they said it could take 4/5 hours

Hopefully it's something that can be treated either with meds or tlc. Keep us posted, won't you?

i am going to check back in about an hour as u have not posted yet so guessing you still waiting? did she stay at the vets steve or were you able to bring her home ?

Well shes in the best place. At least now they can keep her hydrated and start to work out what the problem is. Keep us updated x

they found a growth on her spleen and it's bleeding

they sent some blood off to see how many platelets she as got....

then i have to choose to have a op or not she could live for another 3/4 weeks till the next bleed or have a op can she could bleed to death on the table so hard i really don't know what to do really!!

i just pick her up so I'm spend some time with her..

Steve, my dog Judy was about 8 years old when she had her spleen removed. She was then with us for another 18 months after that and lived a very happy life without it.

oh steve this is not good news ...i dont know how you are going to make suh a hard decision ..what advice did the vet give you ?

Oh no, not good news. Its your descision ultimately. Did the vet say there was a good chance she would come through the operation ok? So sorry, think right now she would just want to be in your arms and close to you. Whatever you decide I'm sure you will make the right decision. x

Steve, so sorry mate as I haven't been about today as just picked this up , hope you are both ok , a tough decision tyo make and sure you will make ther right one for Xena whatever it is , man hugs >< ><
