No you havent got a staffy!!!
I have got a 10 week old pup, she is gorgeous a bit of a handful, but just being a typical pup! It really frustrates me as so many people the first thing they say when they know ive got a staff is, They are aggressive, nasty and not safe with people or other dogs!!! I cant believe you have got one as a family dog. I did my research before i chose to get a staff and from what ive read they are meant to make great family pets as long as you are firm with them, so why the stigma

Re: No you havent got a staffy!!!
Dont take any notice of the gossips and know it alls, they know nothing about the breed and cant be bothered to find anything out either.
They just listen to storys and then add a bit more rubbish themselves and spread it about a bit more. If they were to learn about them they would discover what a wonderful breed they, how well they do get on with children and how well they do at any training.

Re: No you havent got a staffy!!!
Ignore it. Why even let it upset you when you know what a loving and brilliant puppy you have? I've been fortunate in that everyone I've met except for one person loves Staffs, and has either had them before or knows someone who does. Even old people we've met with small dogs will talk about their granddaughter's energetic, well-behaved Staff. So...you know you've done your research and how great a breed they are, so ignore it.

A few idiots have given the staff a bad name, which is such a shame.
Take it as your opportunity to prove to the misinformed people that the stafford is a fantastic breed!

Ignore it. The stigma comes from the media and people's ignorance.

Re: No you havent got a staffy!!!
i have the same problem with people in my area but my parents and my grandparents and friends of the family have all had and have staffs all of our lives and never had 1 turn on us or show any kind of aggressive behaviour to any body.
i first walked my dads old staff when i was 6 ( with my dad there of course ) and my grandad is about 76 now and he still walks his staff in my experence there 1 of the most loyal breeds out there if u treat them right. so i just ignore people when they say hurt full things about them

Re: No you havent got a staffy!!!
Staffys are the most playfull, energetic, loyal, caring, beautifull dogs around when they are raised right.
its people who dont have a clue how to treat your dog right that get them a bad name. a staffy should be a part of the family not your fashion icon to make you look Ard!

I am yet to come across a person who is as loving, caring and gentle as my dog. Well maybe apart from my hubby.

My girlfriends parents have two staffys and there fantastic, they absolutely love me, I always fuss them and have respected them and in turn they love me. there so clever when they want to go out the sit by the back door.
One thing i love aswell they never forget you there so loyal. Im in the British Army and they know that on a Friday my girlfriend normally picks me up and i go back her mum and dads they pace up and down waiting for me.
Im currently serving in Afghanistan and after 4 months i came home for my "RnR" they went absolutely mental when i turned up her house and was jumping up me and running around in excitement it was brilliant.
I have a bag of my clothes at her house for when i return in 5 weeks time, the youngest "Max" found my bag under the stairs and could smell me, he sat ontop and was crying. I know that when I finish my tour and get home that they will be really happy for my return. Staffys are truly amazing dogs. people that say there not for families have no idea what so ever.
Me and my Girlfriend are getting a house together once im back just gotta wait for me get back to sign the solicitors side on my half, then three weeks later we get the keys so we have put down on a deposit for a 2 week pup i really cant wait for the adventures ive got coming my way to make our puppy a family dog

Re: No you havent got a staffy!!!
staffys make great family dogs were even refered to as nanny dogs in the past due to there good temprament with kids. we just introduce any staffy haters to buster and wen he sits nicely at our feet and waits for a fuss that usually shuts them up.
