new member with deer obsessed staffie cross!

Have just found this forum! Have been reading pots for a few days and have found it very helpful! Am the very proud first time owner of a rescue staffie cross called Roxy . We had her at 14 months old and she is now two. she is brilliant in every way and an absolute joy to own. Only issue very high prey drive and we live in an area where there now appear to be more deer than people !! Exaggeration but there do seem to be a lot and she loves to chase them given half a chance...she was very nervous of everything and everybody when we got her but is much better and generally likes playing with most dogs, esp spaniels and is getting ore confident all the time. so this is just to say hi and will post some photos when i have learnt how ! x

Would it be possible to have roxy on a long line when walking in the areas with the deer? You could then give her the leave command and treat and praise loads when she walks away from them. If she bolts to them then she is still on leash for you to correct her

At least yours likes the deer. Mine is indifferent to the deer but passionate about trying to eat the poop they leave behind.
