Re: booster...
I plan on it once its due especially for Parvo there are so many farms around here either side of me and alot of people who don't get their dogs vaccination at all so there's too much risk.

Re: booster...
I was told that even if a dog has been immunised that Parvo will get them anyway, is this correct?

if you leave to long inbetween there boosters and if the dog picks up parvo just before there jab they will still get it thats why its important to get it when its due and not put it off

Re: booster...
They do build up there own immunity against the disease and its a ongoing argument between vets and dog organisations that there is no need to immunise yearly but the vets are a buisness and they do encourage it done yearly. I suppose its a chance to get the dog looked over as well but my vets promote blood tests that will tell you what is likely to go wrong for your dog in elderly life and the approx age of death

Yes vets are a business at the end of the day and dogs do build up their own immunity but i suppose to depends on the disease like you get sever cases of parvo which a dog could not fight off then you have the milder cases which they can i think it really depends on the dog on its strengh and health but living so closely to farms i don't think i will be taking the risk even if my lot are in good condition.

Re: booster...
We dont get Kennel cough though as its a load of *! We got both of ours vaccinated religeously and they got Kennel cough within a month and suffered terribly from it and the expensive vaccination (we discovered by talking to the vet) probably is a waste of your money because just like the common cold, the darned Kennel cough keeps mutating so last years vaccine is this years dud! Go for the regular vaccination, and do yourself a favour, just keep your babies away from othere dogs if Kennel cough is going around (and dont let them drink out of communal water bowls, thats how our 2 got it!).
