How to deal with minor cuts on paws?
Hi guys,
My Kaz recently cut her paw while we were out on a walk, however there was little blood and she didn't seem bothered however she developed over a few days a limp, not all the time but the odd one if that makes sense.
Anyway I tried bathing it and put some germolene on it errrr maybe that was the wrong substance, but it's done now.
Took her to vets to be on safe side, and she prescibed a weeks worth of antibiotics and to clean her paw with water after a walk.
I hope there isn't anything stuck in there, she doesn't seem too bothered, however it looks a bit sore. The vet couldn't see anything but, she freaked me out saying that if a seed is in there it will develop?
How do I do things better, it's real tricky to check her on my own,, she's a big girl and a wriggler? Also any tips on trimming nails, i'm gonna get some clippers.

If it is a pad that is cut I wouldn't put cream on it as this will keep it soft and longer to heal. I just disinfect it at the end of the day but don't wash any scab (even if it does look dirty) off.

re the seed developing iv acctully heard of this happening on my aunties cocker but that bwas down to not being able to see a sore paw through the feathers round the feet .
and the clippers iv been told both by dog groomer and vet you really shouldnt have a need to trim a staffies nails as they are a power walking breed and if exerciced anough there nails wont become a problem (good amount of road walking not just grass walking needed)

Just rinse in salt water after a walk. If it's still sore after a week or so I'd go back to the vet because there might be something stuck in there.
