Collars Empty Collars

Post by cesca1 Sat Aug 18 2012, 23:53

Molly is 4 months and growing at a rate of knots! Are there any particular collars anyone would reccomend for staffs? They have much larger necks than previous breeds I've owned.

I know this probably sounds a bit silly but just want to get the best collar for her Smile

at 4 months i would just go for a plain leather coller as she will be growing out of them all the time i dont think i stopped buying them every few months untill my boy was about 12 months old then i went onto webbing ezdog ones.
he using a nice plain leather one at the minute but when he lose/wears this one out i think i will go back to ezdog ones as i find them great thumbs up

there are loads, and as wazza say's you'd be better off keeping cost down for the moment. although cheaper doesn't mean any less in strength, it just won't last as long normally

Yeah its amazing how much her neck has bulked out in the short period that we've had her! The current one she has is a material one which was bought last minute as she was an unexpected rescue pup Smile

The material one just looks really skinny on her neck and I'm buying her a new one this week.

Thank you so much for the swift reply, LOVE this forum!!

Never owned a staff before but loving every minute.

When she is older (over a year when you can measure) I can reccomend a great collar!

I'd go for an adjustable one at that age.

I found the padded nylon ones from P@H really good! Pretty inexpensive which is good considering they get changed every couple of months! But there strong enough for a pup and there hard wearing aswell!

Tilly had 4 collars in her first year and half, 1st from PAH puppy collar , 2 seconds and out of it , then a Rogz one (PAH again) a bling one for Xmas, and then the last one and probably the worst a pink Staffy collar with knots and everything but it lasted about 4 months before it looked really shabby, she has an Ezydog pink cammo now ant it's freat the best collar ever with a matching harness

I use a wide martingale collar on Mia, it's great because she can't slip out of it, and i think a wider collar is nicer on their necks then a thin collar, and I particularly love mine because it's leopard print!!

Purchased on eBay!

We are on our second EzyDog collar for Skye (she grew out of the first one). Her original nylon collars were irritating her neck but the padded neoprene (same material as wetsuits) of the EzyDog collars are great for this. They are sturdy and strong and easily adjustable. Like them a lot.

I use this one for Rocky, it's just a plain black leather, comfy and doesn't rub the hair off his neck at all:
