Lola sucking quilt?

Lola is now 13 weeks, just over 3 months.I have always used quilts as bedding as I find it cheaper. So was just a little confused as to why Lola has started in the last couple of days sucking the quilt, she gets a whole mouthful in and kneads the quilt as she is sucking, then she can often fall asleep with the quilt still in her mouth.

Any ideas and should I prevent this or just let her get on with it.

To me it looks like she's using it like a child would a dummy, but I'm no expert.

Suckling maybe? a friends pup used to do this alot and it would send her to sleep, i dont think you should be worried just watch she doesn't get it down her throught and block the airways ..

Molly does this ! Well, not with a quilt, but with my finger :S I think it's a comfort thing, like a dummy, or as Kelly said, a suckling instinct

Just be careful she doesn't start to suck bits off it. If it's just sucking there won't be a problem, but it could become a habit which will lead to chewing & swallowing at a later date, as when a pup gets over a certain age it can't suck any more.
