Has anybody used those kind of dog foods

Pixee is on a chicken, pototoe and veg diet, sometimes with rice, sometimes instead of chicken she will have beef, lamb. She does have plain yogury. And cheese and fish sometimes. Wont touch any dried dog food what so ever. And was sick on pasta, yes I know this will remind you of Sophie, thats why I went on that diet for Pixee after she was being sick on pasta, and raw dog bones. Since changing the raw dog bones to a stag bar, and taking her off the pasta, she has stopped being sick. But I still worry about wherever she is getting all the good things. I tried her on the wainwrights yesterday, the lamb and rice one, and to my suprise she polished the bowl off. I got a few stamples of the above. With Pixee, she wont eat the same thing day after day I have noticed, so a change of favour etc but on the same make. The wainwrights was the first sample I tried. Have yet to try her on the other two.

Re: Advice please
Hi Staffylover. Sophie's mum here. As you may remember Sophie couldn't tolerate rice or pasta so we had a real problem. I too was concerned she was not getting all her food groups.
We have continued with the chicken/potato/peas and carrots for the moment, but have now introduced (very sucessfully so far) Fish4dogs. We are currently using it as training treats for the moment.
It doesn't contain either rice or pasta and Sophie absolutely loves it. We are hoping to use it as a top up for the moment with a view to putting her on it permanently in the future.
I phoned them up (number on their website) and they couldn't have been more helpful and even sent us some freebie samples.
Delivery is free but for us, even better our pet/garden centre orders it in for us and because they have a loyalty scheme offering 10% discount we get it even cheaper than buying it direct
Try calling them and having a chat. They may offer some freebies to you as well. Let us know how you are getting on as it looks like we have been in the same boat ><

Re: Advice please
Sorry no have not tried any of those above.
I have recently changed Rocky food from James Welbeloved to Barking Heads dry kibble and have noticed a change in his behaviour. He appears to have calmed down since on the new food and he loves it. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

Re: Advice please
I personally don't like wet food (cans, trays etc) because they're about 80% water & are no good for their teeth.
I would also advise a phone call to fish4dogs - they are very helpful. If you do, mention that the forum sugested it!

Re: Advice please
Charlie loves Wainwrights but I feed dry not wet food. I have heard great things on here about fish4dogs and will be trying Charlie with it.

Re: Advice please
Wow, thank you all for the advice. For Sophies mom, I did email them, only way I could get in touch due to my ears not working, they only good for ear rings, wearing reading glasses, and for hubby to whisper sweet nothings in . I had a lovely email back explaining about their food etc and I am getting some free samples too, so fingers cross Pixee will love them.
Caryll, I understand where you are coming from re the teeth, I am trying my best to get Pixee a good diet and cover all other things too, she does love chewing robes which are good for teeth, ever loves me holding the rope whilst she see saws her way through it. Shame she started being sick on raw bones. But the stag bar, she loves it and is on her second one now.
Jackieb, its good to know your dogs are doing well on Wainwrights, so far, touch wood, Pixee is loving the trays and at this time in moment, I am one happy mum that she is getting some good food. The bulk is great in the trays, unlike some wet food.
Shon, I tried some of wainwrights dry food, Pixee didnt like it, ever tricked her by hiding it in the tray one, boy she refused to eat it.
Kathy, I did have Pixee on James Well Beloved, but boy she turned her nose up at every dry food I tried her on. She ever turned her nose up on their wet food.
Oh Caryll I did say you all pointed me in the direction of fishfordogs
