Smile Puppy Classes

Post by Guest Tue Aug 07 2012, 20:56

Me and Loki went to our first puppy training class today and he was brilliant Big Grin he was excited, but he sat there and stayed calm 90% of the time. There were three other dogs there; a Newfoundland, a German Shepherd and a Jack Russell. The poor little Jack Russell was a nervous thing. Anyway, the German Shepherd barked often, and the trainer said to give the other puppies a treat whenever a puppy barked, so Loki soon picked up on it. Every time the German Shepherd barked, he'd look at me expectantly Laughing. About halfway through the class, Loki let out this pathetic squeak of a bark at the German Shepherd, so his owner was ready to finally give him a treat, but...the dog barked back at Loki and ruined it for himself. But yeah, mostly we were just listening to the woman talk and asking questions and did a few sits. We also let the dogs off the lead one-by-one to practice recall. I was terrified that Loki would run over to the Jack Russell and eat it (he was very interested in it), but he didn't, he ran right to me Big Grin I'm proud of him for doing so well.

Sorry for rambling, but I was really pleased with how it went and wanted to share Smile
