Another Newbie
Hello everyone.
Im Stefan, me and my fiance recently rehomed an 8 years old boy Ronnie from Ostara Dog Rescue. Previous owners had health conditions so couldn't look after him anymore apparently. He has lived with his mum his whole life so has had to ajust to being on his own with us as his mum got rehomed really quickly.
He has excema on all his paws and is a nightmare for chewing them so we try to keep him occupied. The paw chewing has become habit I think too so it will be a hard cycle to break or even limit at best. He was also left with an eye infection that left his right eye with minimal vision and 2 weeks ago the rescue took him back to have it removed as well as his manhood so he is recovering at the moment. The op didn't go as smoothly as we all would have liked as his blood wasn't clotting properly so he was kept in over night.
We have had him just over a month now and he has settled in great. The cats tolerate him and he doesn't seem bothered by them, he is scared of the rats and he is fine out on walks and loves meeting other dogs. Our daughter loves him too.

Re: Another Newbie
Awww poor lad! So glad he has a good forever home now, though! With his feet, you could try bathing them with warm salty water after each walk & then smear a little sudocrem on them. It might help to ease the discomfort.
P.S. Hello & welcome to the forum!

Hi and welcome from me, Maska and Loki.
Shame, poor old Ronnie is having a tough time, and I bet its not that easy on you either. Well done on the rescue, and for giving Ronnie a loving and caring home.
Bless him and I hope he heals up quickly
