do they miss you when you go out?

When ever I go out my oh says scooby goes and lays in his bed till I come home, he won't sit on the sofa with him n maisy, he just waits for me in his bed bless him.

Just wondered do any of your dogs miss you when you're gone?

Suki has a welcome home ritual. Any time I come back I have to sit on the floor and let her get in my lap. She isn't happy until this is done and will follow me aroud until I give in.

Aww I bet that's frustrating at times but it's also so sweet!

Charlie doesn't seem to notice the differemce between me being gone all day or just a few minutes. He goes mad when I get home, wagging his tail, doing his low rumbly growl thingy, trying to gove me kisses - I assume that means he missed me!!

Bella greets me like she hasn't seen me for weeks no matter how long I have been out. Sometimes even just coming in from another room gets the wiggling welcome lol. They are such funny little dogs Big Grin

My dogs give me the sad puppy eyes when i leave home but wow do they show me i was missed when i walk back in. Its so nice to come home to happy dogs Smile

When we go on holiday lexi always looses weight (and i know it isnt from lack of food, my friend is a feeder and we usually come home to obese cats) she used to be okay when we had the other dogs but now she gets lonely i think. I have considered kennels but honestly she would not cope well, she hates being locked up cause she has so much freedom and the other dogs would send her loopy.

Nah, Loki will just settle down and sleep, or play, or do whatever while I'm out, and when I come back I either get a nice calm puppy walking up to me for attention with his tail wagging, or I get the hyperactive demon jumping at me and biting me Big Grin

Callie is so excited to see us when I come home. Wiggles all over.

A few days ago I ran out to do grocery shopping. My kids said she lay down by the door, head on paws, and just waited till I got back.

p.s. loved your post about Suki jstaff. She is quite big to sit in anyone's lap!

I keep saying to my wife that the dog is different when she is out. Cookie lies about looking sad and no energy, then when my wife wlaks in it is like a different dog.

Yes, Kenny does the same, doesnt move until im home, then i get the wiggly bum, kisses and crazy time. Im away 4 a week in december and im dreading it Sad

I actually think that they live in the moment unlike us. They do however know exactly what face and noises they need to make to make us guilty as hell when we leave them. I am darn sure they then get on with it while we gone and then put on a huge show when we come back.

This is of course true for normal short daily routines. I am sure they may pine when seperated from their family for longer periods.

When my hubby and I both go out Rocky has the flat to himself and curles up on the bed and has a good snooze.

We know he does this because the bed is always nice and warm when we get back.

When I am getting ready to leave Bella sits slumped on the door mat with the standard puppy eyes and refuses to move unless I pick her harness and lead up or I move her myself! From there she is straight in the window on her seat on the sofa watching me leave without taking her eyes off me, heartbreaking.

When I return she is always still in the position where he was when I left, ears dipped and wiggling from side to side, when I get in after she has dived on me and attempted to give me a wash and see where I have been she has something to eat, as she won't unless I'm there or she is starving!

So I'd say she defiantly does miss me when I'm gone!!

Maska used to be quite bad. When we left (it didn't matter if it was 20 minutes or 2 hours) he would sit at the gate, just staring. When we got back he would still be there, but then he would yelp from excitement. Since we got Loki, they still both get very excited when we get home, except now, Maska doesn't wait around at the gate anymore. Not at least they play and have each other's company. Big Grin

Buster misses me. If I go out on my own without him (which is rare anyway) then OH says he whines by the door for a bit and then sulks on his be untill I get back. We don't have a drive, we have a car park near our house and if he hears the car pull up after we all go out then we can hear him yelping with excitment Smile

I think LuLu misses me. She doesn't sulk like Buster, but she is aways extra happy to see me, and will not touch any food untill I am home.

Pixee sits on one of the two conney chairs which is in the front of the house, its more a sunroom, but we call it the conney and stays there either a sleep or watching the boats go by till I pull up and then shes on the window cill with her staffy smile, the min I get out the car, shes jumping up and down at the front door, I have to let her out while she stands on her back legs and gives me the licks to say welcome home mummy, I have missed you. Hubby says she always goes quiet when I leave the house and stays put in the chair till I come back ever with hubby and son around.
