Small Hard Spots
Our 9-year-old staffy Rosie has a couple of small spots, one on her neck and the other on her back which are very hard to the touch. She doesn't scratch at them and they don't appear to be causing her any discomfort at all. But they've been there for some time now and I was wondering whether they might be anything to worry about?
Other than this she seems in perfect health for a dog of her age. Just wondering what they are and what we can do about them.

Re: Small Hard Spots
They could be wart/skin tag like growths that staffords get the older they become.
My old girl has a few ( neck, elbow underside and a new one on her nose)
If they are these they only need removing if they are a problem ... ie the one on her neck gets rubbed by her collar causing it too bled.

Hi & welcome.
Yes, if they're skin tags/warts then they're best left alone unless they're causing a problem. Next time you're at the vets, just mention them.

Re: Small Hard Spots
My boy (at 6 yrs) developed small hard lumps on the back of his neck.. Took us ages to figure it out!
Not itchy just little lumps that had a loss of a little fur It was his collar rubbing!! Doh we just made sure we took his collar off at the end of each walk and changed it for a soft indoor collar Job done!

Re: Small Hard Spots
Oh and he had tiny little bald spots on his rear heels it turned out it was were he was laying on the decking and suggling up to the next level, causing a bit of hard skin ... At nine years old and no previous history of skin troubles look at the little bugger habits of snuggle places.. I had to pull up our geranium plant as he was allergic to it!
