How should I deal with the next door neighbour over our ferrule cat
Next Door Neighbour ...Kill, Appease or Ignore
Little long winded but we have a cat , not really talked about as it has gone ferrule and probably on her last legs , can't catch her to get to the vets so she is in the hands of the gods
A retaining wall between ourselves and the neighbour which he states is ours is where we normally leave her food as its the only place she will come and eat. Neighbours have been complaining for months as they have cats (including one they stole from us by tempting with treats but thats another story) and they say it encourages unwelcome cats to come and foul in their house as they are too lazy to fit heir cats out with a coded cat flap (they have one that is unlocked all of the time)
Final straw came today when he came out of the house to complain for the umpteenth time and I take the flack for the OH who is the guilty feeder !!! Lost my temper with him and told him I couldn't be bothered with all this s**t and I was going in. Normally tolerate them though they are a pain in the butt , today just not in the mood ...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Next time you are out, put a lemon on top of the wall. Just leave it sitting there. Might get the message across!

Re: Next Door Neighbour ...Kill, Appease or Ignore
Just ignore the cretin, you're not doing anything wrong and they can fix their problem by sorting out their catflap. I seriously wouldn't waste any more energy on the issue. You're not doing anything wrong, and they can't tell you what to do.

so is the kill option a bit too strong , this has been going on for months with the smiles in the middle. TBH it is the perfect opportunity to cut our ties > >

Your neighbour is complaining because you're feeding your cat on your land with your cat food in your own time?
Lol.
What is he suggesting you do?

Think their own cats are doing plenty of that to start with

Re: Next Door Neighbour ...Kill, Appease or Ignore
I don't know about a machete, but my dad used to have a really nice, sharp, sparkling cut-throat razor that he used to sharpen on a strip of leather - could split a hair, it was so sharp. Have you got one? Could you get one?
Could you slice someone's throat with.............ahem. Sorry, getting carried away.

That really would work...trouble is, all cats would be dinner!

My personal favourite when dealing with people like this is to simply smile and laugh and make a big joke about the whole thing and carry on as normal!! This usually winds them up more than anything.

*note to self: do not mess with Caryll*
I'm going with the kill option as well. They really think food outside makes cats go in their houses? Pffft! When I was growing up there was quite a few cats in the area and they would just pop in any open windows or doors just because they could

My old granddad use to use a super soaker from his window to deter cats from the garden! Maybe use it on the neighbours instead to deter them???

Re: Next Door Neighbour ...Kill, Appease or Ignore
If you can't find a super soaker I have a money saving tip. Don't go out buying expensive toys instead use the rifle or BB gun you already have

Mate we could punch them into little bits, cut a few bits with the laser , then mark all of the pieces so they could reassemble if bored, the power of technology, and if thats not enough we can always get out the hand tools > > >
