Stag Bars?? (Anyone tried them)
I want to order a couple for these as they seem to like any kind of "hardish" chew, where does everyone get theirs from? is there a cheap online place? Ive searched for ages but theres too many places

Re: Stag Bars?? (Anyone tried them)
I got a large one for Zeus a few months ago, at first he wasn't interested but he has a good go at it now.
I got mine from ebay and looked for ages, the cheapest I found was here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280838944518?var=580075977809&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I'd go for the extra large to be honest if I were to buy another one!

You can get them in the Jolleys store some Pets at Homes stores, Amazon or Pure Dog website.
Rocky loves these and can highly recommend them.

Think I ordered Ledgers off Pure Dog website but noticed Pets at Home had a big selection of them when I was in there last week, I went for the extra large (not as big as I expected)

Re: Stag Bars?? (Anyone tried them)
I have given Blue a stag bar which has been shed thanks to the recommendations by members off here. I got mine either off amazon or ebay. I got the extra large one and it lasted a month.
Blue loved it.
Most people on here say they normally last a few months

Re: Stag Bars?? (Anyone tried them)
was looking on ebay and you can get stacks of doe atlers for quite cheap £30 for 8-10 2 foot antler???? just wondered if they needed to be treated ????

Re: Stag Bars?? (Anyone tried them)
A stag bar is just a shed antler that's been cut... So I don't see how you couldn't get a full antler? Unsure about treatin it or anything though!

Be interested to know what differences there are. Looked on stag bars website and they don't mention anything about cleaning etc. But a few on ebay do state they have been cleaned with bleach which can't be good.
Also 100% of stag bars are natuaraly shed.Maybe cheaper one's have been killed????
Be interested to see if anyone has more knoweldge on the subect

Re: Stag Bars?? (Anyone tried them)
I went to Pets At Home today to get Loki's food and a new toy, and noticed the StagBar (said they were new), so I got him one cos I remember people on here suggesting it. The woman at the till said her puppy loves it and it lasts for a long time. I gave it to Loki and he adores it; ran happily to his cage and chewed it. I think it'll be a good substitute for, you know, my arm/clothing

Yes, I always take them off mine once they become small enough to be a choking hazard

Personally I wouldn't get one from a culled animal - don't like the idea of that when I can get them without the animal being harmed.
There's no problem getting a whole antler as long as, if you're going to cut it, you saw it & don't chop it. It's the same with bones - a chopped one will develop fault lines which can crack & leave sharp edges.
I get mine from Amazon & a lady on a GSD forum!

i was hoping to get aset still attached to the head so memphis could play withit but i dont think the deer shed them so may have to go with culled > .
iv no problem with culled animals as long as its for genuine over population but thats just my opinion being a meat eater

Now that would be impressive if they could shed their heads

Re: Stag Bars?? (Anyone tried them)
They have them in Jollys near the Range store Nikki, better price than the pure dog website and you get to chose the best one for our dog. Our lot are on their 2nd lot in 5 months and that is with Charlie's teething and Polly's obsessive chewing

Re: Stag Bars?? (Anyone tried them)
i think others have said this as well you take a bit of a risk buying online as you can end up being disapointed.
will be sticking with P A H as you can pick the best they got

Re: Stag Bars?? (Anyone tried them)
honest i went through the ones they had and i only got a meddium and it was bigger i feel than most of the large ones they had and not a great deal smaller than the ex large bargain lol
but as you said 10quid for ex large not bad as your looking at 12/13 quid online when you add postage

Re: Stag Bars?? (Anyone tried them)
Yer the extra large were ALOT bigger then the large and medium which with my two would have been quite pointless, as the ones i bought have quite worn down ends on them
