New staffy owner
Hi there, I'm a new staffy owner, we have a 15 month old bitch we have taken in as previous owner didn't want her anymore! She is lovely natured, very good in house and on lead, but is very hyper when around/ near other dogs, is this something she will grow out of?

Re: New staffy owner
Training will help, they don't just grow out of things without it
Practice recall, take treats and toys so she is interested in you, and give her time to settle in, nice one for taking her in

Re: New staffy owner
She is also very obodient when at home, but when on a lead or outside distracted by garden, smells etc, she seems to switch off and not listen at all, almost like she can't hear , is this normal for her age or maybe just cos she not used to us properly yet?

Re: New staffy owner
She's still in the puppy phase but she will settle , you have to be consistent with the training . Tilly has only just really settled in the last few months since we got Tommy and now she just wants to be a good girl

Re: New staffy owner
Hi & welcome to the forum.
Training and being consistant is the key. It just takes time and she has had allot to deal with. She will need time to settle in.
Just take small steps in her training so you don't set her up to fail. She sounds like she is doing well and a massive well done for you for giving her a chance
