Hello from new Staffy owner.
Hi,
First visit here and it looks great. Some super looking staffys too!
We've just collected our first staffy, a little girl who is 9 weeks old. She is a fawn colour with black tiger stripes, infact she looks like a tiny tiger. Not seen this colour before, very cute.
If anyone has any tips for training I'd really appreciate it. I'll post a photo on shortly. She really is adorable.
Did Eli get a home?

Hi
Your girl sounds very much like my Cookie, she's a tiger brindle. Very pretty colouring. I would love to see a picture of your pup

Thank you for the welcome!
Thanks for the messages and for the welcome. Decidded to call our new little girl Popet, Poppy for short I suppose, until it gets shortened even more to something like Poppy Woppy Wooo lol. She looks similar to 'Janey'. Is there a special name for this colour staffy please.
There's some very handsome boys on here too. Will spend some time looking at all the photos later.
Thanks again.

Re: Hello from new Staffy owner.
Hi Alfie, thanks for that 'tiger brindle', haha great!
Will post pic. she's keeping me busy running around like a loonie grabbing everything on the way and knocking over most things.
Any idea how I can toilet train. Got pads around the house, but she 'goes' near the pads and not on them. After she's had a drink and food, I take her outside (about) 10 mins afterwards, but she cries to go indoors and then does her business indoors! Joy. lol been scrubbing carpets for two days!!

Re: Hello from new Staffy owner.
Hi,
Take popet out every 30 mins and stay with her until she does her business, have a special word for it, I use "mornings" (even if its the evening) and stay with her until she does it. Once done lots and lots of praise. Try not to get frustrated if it doesn't happen immediatly, but slowly it will. If she goes in the house don't tell her off, just clean it up and take her outside to the spot where you want her to go and tell her your word. It can be infuriating house training but they do learn quickly.
Colour wise I need a pic!! I have never seen a staffy the same as Moo, its a very unusal Brindle, when I registered her at the vets they asked what colour she was and we decided on a honey brindle!! Everyone calls her a Tiger or Hyena!!
I really hope your enjoying your new addition!

Re: Hello from new Staffy owner.
Hi, thanks very much. Especiallly Janey for the advice on toilet training. Mornings lol like it.
Popet has changed her name to Tiggy, due to the fact that people laughed at her and said 'staffs can't be called Popet'. they have a point I suppose. So Tiggy it is )
A crate? Now I am scared. For me or the pup lol?

Re: Hello from new Staffy owner.
for you no only joking for the pup she will love it a place all to her self were she will feel safe and warm and it makes it a lot easier to trian her and if she does thing that are undesirable like mouthing, chewing its somwere to put her with no attension and she will learn fast and also it a safe haven for her when you have to leave her alone

Re: Hello from new Staffy owner.
I have never done crate training with either of my girls so cannot advise on that! My rescue at the mo was crate trained but I've never used it, (the crate) although I do have baby gates on all doors that She is not alowed in whilst I am out!
It maybe a route to look down if this doesn't work, also if she gets destructive its a defo, again never had that problem, let me know how you get on. I know how hard it is, I don't have a garden so house training with my first was a nightmare!

Re: Hello from new Staffy owner.
Yes I second that, I had Billy sleep in the crete in the kitchen untill he was nearly 8 months old. If I hadnt done that we would have a kitchen now because he would of chewed it all up lol.
