Running crazy routes and meeting other dogs !?
Hello everyone, i just wondered how many of your dogs make up crazy routes in their head around the house and dart to the same corners repeatedly 4 or 5 times its so funny to watch LOL jumps off the sofa round the table into the bathroom scurries under the pipe behind the toilet and back round and jumps on the sofa and so on and so on!
Also, he has been around a big field we have here, however when a huge dog comes darting towards him i get really nervous and pick him up, is there a way to get them used to other dogs and how do you know how they will retaliate :S we took him to see my partners nans dog but he was really vicious toward vinnie and didnt really go down well. In puppy class he seems fine, i just worried for when i take im for big walks and other huge dogs who are off their leads come up to him and hes still tiny that theyll hurt him or he will get over excited and try to play with the bigger dog :/ Any tips would be handy, thankyouuuuu

Re: Running crazy routes and meeting other dogs !?
Have you tried to have a walk around a local park without your dog and see which dogs look friendly.
Then go back some other time with Vinnie and see if you can try some quiet introductions with the well socilaised dogs/friendly there. Maybe ask the owners if they wouldn't mind putting their dog on the lead while they do their intros.

Re: Running crazy routes and meeting other dogs !?
Try and remember your own energy when meeting other dogs is picked up and could lead to a nasty encounter. What ever you do, do not pick your puppy up. This indicates weakness to the other dog, reinforces fearful behaviour in yours and can be downright dangerous.
However, your puppy is still very young and still has a way to go learning doggie etiquette. Going to puppy socialising classes will raise both of your confidence levels.
BTW welcome!
