Re: New Phone
the camera dont need to be loads of pixels either as they give great pictures (second to none )for a phone anyway as they have a proper os and processer to capture images
motion shoots you will be really suprised with how good a picture you get

Re: New Phone
My oh's getting a blackberry 9790 bold. I prefer a touchscreen - that's what I've got now. The one I've got now has a nice camera but no zoom. I don't make that many phone calls, texts or anything so any phone I get has to have something to tempt me!
It was more expensive than I wanted, but I liked it!

the term mobile telephone was first used in 1994 when nokia unvailed there celluler telephone the same size as a mars bar or for the more ruff brought up the same size as a 2 ounce bar of canibis

Re: New Phone
I think they are still called cell phones in America, I'm sure our American colleagues can answer that one correctly.

My oh was tempted by the Samsung, but decided to stick with bb.
I like a touch screen, though. Very tactile, me!

Well, the phones arrived today, but because they came by post rather than doing the deal in the Orange shop, the sim doesn't get activated till friday!

I hate mobile phone companies, especially o2 ewwwwww
Still really mad at them for something that happend 6 years ago, would never go near them ever again.
They took 340 quid out of my account which they shouldn't have and I got quite angry with one of their reps on the phone. Wrote to the chairman and ended up with 50 quid as a good will jesture, didn't come anywhere near close.

Re: New Phone
Yes I did get the rest of the money back I phoned my bank and reversed the transaction. I dont think o2 like that very much, the rep was really bad and I reported him.

Re: New Phone
At least you got it back.
I've heard awful things about o2 - a couple of guys my oh works with are on the o2 network, but they'll be changing when their contract runs out.
I'm with Orange, and I must admit I've not had any problems with them.

They're pretty good once it's all up & running. Never get a problem with signals & they've never claimed the wrong amount.

I can't, Wazza! The old phone has a standard sim but the new one has a micro sim!
Never mind, it'll all be ok on friday evening.

Re: New Phone
Glad to hear that someone has some patience as I have none at all. If there is ever more than one person in a queue for anything I just walk away, I cannot stand there I would just boil over. Having said that I have never lost my patience with Rocky or my hubby, I guess loved ones are different.
Good luck for tomorrow and your new phone Caryll, hope it all works OK when you do get it.
So exciting new phones

Re: New Phone
Well. It's 28th July, the day after my phone was supposed to go 'live'.
It takes superb pics & vids (haven't worked out how to get them on here yet, but I will!), the internet is super-quick & easy to use, good sound on playing music.
Brilliant.
Except..........
I can't make or receive phone calls, and I can't send or receive texts! Apparently, according to the phone, the sim card is damaged! Tried phoning the Orange helpline (it's their phone after all) but they only work monday to friday!
Aaaaaaaaggggghhhhhhh!!!!!

Caryll, who supplied the SIM card ? Are you able to contact them or go into the shop ?

Re: New Phone
Orange supplied it, it came with the phone. I don't know if the shop would get involved, but even if it did, they would probably have to contact the sales team who only work mon - fri.
I might pop in to town this afternoon & see what the people in the shop say. SO annoying.
