Ziggys play date

So today despite the rain we had arranged for ziggy to go on a play date with the other halfs friend at work who has a 5 month old jack russell pup called harry . Its the second time he has been but i didnt get to go last time . Zig has come from a family with other dogs but we have never let him off lead with another dog , only walked him along side my moms cocker spaniel but he payed her no attention really .

Today tho as soon as he was off lead off he flew and gave tiny Harry the run around , boy did they run!







Harry did have an obsession with trying to hump ziggy , who just looked at us like "is this kid for real?" lol . But generally ignored him apart from when entising the game of tag! We got back to our friends house and bathed them both and then took them out in the back garden . Ziggy found one of Harrys ham bones , at first harry was like "well thats mine , but u can have one lick"



But the when ziggy had abit more , harry got quite angry and he growled alot at ziggy , whos furr bristled and looked over at me abit shocked ! Ziggy didnt react to the angry little one and our friend gave them one each which was ok for abit . Then Harry was still narky with ziggy who was abit unsure of him after . then harry tried to hump him again and it was back to playing! I now kno what u all mean when u say staffies play rough!! he didnt make the little one cry out he just lay on his back while harry got annoyed that he couldnt get zig properly! made me laugh alot he was growling lots and jumping on/over and around zig tail wagging like mad . And ziggy being the gentle giant just gently mouthed him!





It was weird being around a possessive dog (harry) who was so young! he did growl at his owners when he had a ham bone so ziggy stood no chance really who will leave anythin if i tell him ! im suprised that ziggy didnt react when harry snapped at him for taking his bone , but he just tried to walk off with it , naughty lad!

Im so proud of how he behaved and how gentle he was with the live wire pup! its definately made me want to have a play mate for ziggy in the future , it was great to see them running like mad!

Play dates are the best if the dogs can handle each other! Moo's is a collie cross, big lad and the noises they make when she pins him down sound so bad! I'm glad the owner doesn't mind lol Xx

haha! i kno the noises that harry made sounded quite nasty , but it was definately all play , and ziggy didnt make any noise at all , just one swipe of his big ol' paw and harry went flying lol!

Glad Ziggy had a good time. Play dates are great for exercise and socialization.

My brother has two jack russels, and they are really well trained, but they are still possessive, and sometimes even obsessive about things.

Hehe how cute are they! Having a ball running around! Looks like they had a great time, apart from the humping maybe, lol always a bit awkward!

yep totally alkward ziggy paid him no attention but the fact that harry is only as tall as ziggys leg standing up made us all chuckle and he was very persistant! naughty pup! lol .
